![]() Long range are also easy to engineer as G5 really isn't needed, not to suggest they are the clearly superior option either though. It's nice to start nailing an enemy from 4 or 5 KM out and have their shields down by the time they are firing back. Fall off really hurts lasers, and a beefed up Python isn't exactly dictating engagement distances so that's why I went with them. It obviously does fine against shields, for tougher enemies with big hulls some PP sniping will speed up kills. They are all long range with thermal vent on the beams & emissive on the pulse. I'd have to check to be positive on exactly what lasers I'm using, but pretty sure it's 2 large burst and 2 medium beams on top, and a large pulse on the bottom. So far as PD, charge enhanced super conduit all the way, frequent boosts and power for shield regen (assuming big bi-weaves) are nice, and that 7 PD can handle its hard points pretty well. I have combat Python I like to use on occasion with all lasers, and it's a very capable ship.
